How to Prepare for IELTS Exam?
Listening
The listening module lasts for 40 minutes in the exam. The first 30 minutes involve listening and in the last 10 minutes, candidates add answers to an answer sheet. The test is divided into four stages, with each stage getting more difficult. The first stage involves a social conversation between two people. In the second stage, the candidate listens to a speech in a formal situation. The third stage includes a more formal conversation between two to three people. The fourth stage involves a lecture by an individual.
Speaking
We provide coaching to help candidates pass the listening test. In the listening test, the candidate is evaluated by the examiner during an interview that lasts for 11-14 minutes. The test is divided into three parts. In the first part, the candidate is asked some basic questions. In the second part, the candidate is given a topic to speak about for two minutes. The third part involves a discussion with the examiner on a complicated topic.
Reading
The reading module is different for Academic and General Training. The reading module in the academic test lasts one hour. The test consists of 40 questions from three different types of readings that are mostly taken out of academic publications. The General Training also lasts for one hour. It has three sections, and the readings are related to daily life in an English-speaking country.
Writing
The writing test is perhaps the most difficult part of the IELTS exam. It is different for academic and general training aspirants. Both types of tests last for 60 minutes. In the academic test, there are two tasks. The first task is to describe some educational map, diagram or process. The second task involves writing an essay on a general topic. In General Training, the first task is to write a letter to a friend or a company. In the second task, the candidate must write an essay on a general topic.
